Welcome to Rathdowney Resources Ltd.
Rathdowney is a mineral exploration company focused on finding and developing the next generation of zinc deposits in the ore fields of Poland and Ireland.
In Poland, the company's interest is the Upper Silesian Mining District, a region of world-class Mississippi Valley-type zinc-lead deposits in which it has been granted two prospecting concessions, and applied for a third, encompassing an area of 150 square km.
Located along strike from the active Pomorzany-Olkusz and closed Boleslaw operations - mines that historically produced 125 million tonnes of ore grading 4% zinc and 2% lead - Rathdowney's concessions were explored in the past by Polish State surveys, including extensive drilling, and are known to host zinc-lead deposits. An extensive multi-phase campaign of resource verification and exploration drilling began in June 2011.
The Irish Midlands host one of the world's great ore fields. Rathdowney has assembled a substantial land portfolio in this well-endowed area of Ireland, comprising some 1,600 square km in six project areas. Extensive early stage exploration over the past two years has established a number of drill-ready zinc-lead targets. Initial drill testing began in April 2011.
With interests in mineral-rich areas of Poland and Ireland, Rathdowney has the potential to become a significant zinc producer in Europe.
